So after much pfaffing about, I finally have the new design live.

I was pulling my hair out trying to get things working, constantly making tiny changes and then FTPing them to the server. I was so sick of it that today I finally installed WAMP here and WordPress on that machine.

Talk about time saving, all coding complete and tested within 3 hours. Few tweaks to the graphics and I was done!

So with the hard part over, all I had to do was upload via FTP and change to the new Kitty Loves Japan Template, sort out the placement of a few Widgets and their content, and voila!

In other great news, the Shop is almost ready to go back online – I’ve downloaded and installed eShop for WordPress, and hope to have it all working as I want by the end of next weekend. It’s also a good process to learn for potential clients, as most carts are simply too excessive for the small business that only wants to upload a new product every other week!

I’m really looking forward to your feedback about the design :)

    Noodle Slide

    Noodle Slide

This awesome object is from Bandai – the same people who make Transformers and ReMent.

Basically, it’s a noodle slide – the noodles slide down in a stream of water, to land in a dish that has an inbuilt strainer.

The noodles come out of the tiny house at the top – how kawaii is that?

Bandai are selling these for ¥8,400. You’ll never have to drag your kids to the kitchen table again!

    Kid's will eat it up!

I’ll be trying to get one of these on my next trip to Japan.

    Easter

    Posted in: Australia

I’m not a religious person, so the only reason I celebrate Christian Holidays is that my Government forces me to take the days off work, and shuts down the entire country for them. I don’t really understand why we celebrate the holy days of one religion, and not those of another, but that’s just how Australia is.

I use these holidays as a time to recover and relax with family and friends. To reconnect with people, who like most of us, are so busy during the rest of the year that these holidays are the only time we can get to spends hours together.

Because I cannot actually see my family at Easter as they live on the opposite side of the country, I spend time with close friends, and my Husband’s family. Husband’s family tend to have a huge family gathering that consists of about 30 people or more, all bringing a dish to complement the Host Family’s already beautiful spread of delicious food. We exchange eggs, eat a wonderful meal, catch up on new happenings, and reminisce about old happenings.

All in all, it’s rather a lovely thing to do when you all have the same day off from the mundane routine of daily life.

    Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you too spent time with those you love.

The reason for no posts in the past little while, is that the bandwidth for my internet connection at home has been throttled.

Basically, living in Australia – broadband means you get really OK speeds (nothing like you get in Japan or North America) until you use your pitiful allotted quota of bandwidth for the month, and then you are slapped hard on the wrist with a wet wooden ruler and your internet speed is cut back to that of a 1992 modem.

You may think I joke, but I do not. I have been unable to view photos on Flickr, read my favourite websites or even simply watch a single YouTube video. It’s been a LOLcat free zone and for that reason alone I hate how Broadband is metered out here in Australia.

I actually have spent the time a little productively. I have around 100 photos to upload to flickr, not all Blythe related (mostly cars actually), a new website design for a client to go live and a new design in the works for here, as promised.

This site will commence to be mirrored at Pixelkitty.net as well, because it’s the longest running domain name I’ve ever owned, and I feel I’m neglecting it.

Check back next week for updates, photos and pretty colours.
