Just in time for Christmas, Junie Moon announce a Toys R’ Us exclusive Neo Blythe.

    TRU Exclusive Stella Savannah

    TRU Exclusive Stella Savannah

Stella Savannah is a bit of a literary buff, and likes to write mystery novels. She’s dressed head to two in perfectly proper attire, and best yet – those fantastically hard to get platform Mary Janes that first appeared on Momolita Ultimate Tour are included!

She’s going to be pricey though – with a suggested retail of 15,540 yen – and hard to get, being a TRU Exclusive to Japan only.

Perhaps us plebs will get a lottery?

“Stella Savannah” wears a frilly white blouse with tartan jumper skirt.
The dress has a waist marked with 2 little buttons.
Her wine-red velvet cape has a big collar and frills at the trim.
The hat is matched with the cape.
The heart-shaped brim and brown velvet ribbon around the hat add a lovel accent.
Inside of the hat there is a comb, so that it stays on the head easily.
Her hair is pink straight long with bangs.
For the shoes she selected a high-heel black strap shoes and white lacy stockings to match the shoes.
Her makeup is a brown eye shadow with pink blush and lips.
Her face type is Radiance, and skin type is Natural.

    Katsudon

    Posted in: food

Over the years, it has become apparent that katsudon is one of M’s favourite dishes.

So, seeing as today was the first time I have actually felt like eating since my minor surgery, I decided it was time to learn to make it.

Here is the result of my first go at making katsudon:

By the speed at which Mdevoured it, I know it was good :)

I started by making the dashi broth, as I couldn’t find any at the supermarkets locally.

    Shitake Dashi
    4.5 cups water
    4-5 whole dried shitake mushrooms

    Method:
Place water and mushrooms in a pot – push mushrooms under the water and give a little stir.
    Turn heat to medium.
When water boils, turn the heat off, put the lid on and wait twenty minutes.
I find a glass of wine is good about now (to drink, not to cook with!)
When twenty minutes has passed, taste the dashi. If you are happy with the strength, strain off the mushrooms and put the clear liquid into a sealable container.

    Makes about 4 cups.

    Tonkatsu
    Pork Fillets
    Rice Flour
    Panko Crumbs
    Egg
    Oil for cooking
    Cooked Rice

    Method:
Bash pork fillets with something heavy to flatten them a little bit. Placing the pork between sheets of cling wrap helps. Don’t beat them super thin, just to make them fit into a dress size down :)

Lightly coat both sides of the pork in rice flour.
Now thoroughly coat the floured pork in the beaten eggs.
Now cover in Panko crumbs. Press them in firmly. Be generous.

Heat the cooking oil until very hot and shimmery.
Gently place a pork fillet into the oil. Turn at least once during cooking.
Fillet is cooked when both sides of the crumbs are a lovely golden brown. Don’t over cooked!

    Katsudon
Now, find a brown onion and slice it finely.
Then, take about 1 and a half cups of the dashi you made and put it in a pan big enough for both pork fillets.
Warm the dashi on a low heat, adding about 5 tablespoons of soy, and about two teaspoons of mirin. Add around two teaspoons of sugar. Three if you think it needs it.
Turn the heat to medium, and with a very sharp knife, cut through the pork fillets at 2cm intervals so you now have slices.
Using an eggflip or spatula, carefully lay the fillet into the pan. Once both fillets are in, turn the heat up until the dashi is boiling.
Now pour over two beaten eggs. Turn off the heat and cover the pan.

I assume you know how to cook sticky rice already, so serve the rice between two large bowls.
Using the same spatula, gently lift the entire pork fillet and slide it into one of the bowls. Repeat.
Pour over some of the dashi, egg and onion broth. Get as much egg and onion as you can. It’s the best bit.

    Eat!

Hello Kitty turns 35 this year, and to celebrate, Sanrio and Junie Moon have gotten together to create ‘Ribonetta Wish’ – Hello Kitty Blythe.

You can tell a new release is going to be popular when every single Blythe collector on flickr has uploaded the promo sketch to their account.

With only a very limited release of 3,000 – I think Hello Kitty Blythe is going to be harder to get than Doronjo X Blythe and Momolita Blythe were put together.

Can you say inflation? Get yourself in line for the lottery, and pad your retirement fund with Hello Kitty Blythe – probably already worth five times her listed release price, and she doesn’t arrive until December 2009.

Hello Kitty Blythe - Ribonetta Wish

“Ribboneta Wish” is the name of this special doll created to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary.
Bows in five colors beautifully accent her dress and hair.

She is a doll with the precious message from Hello Kitty.
May your world become bright and beautiful!

“Ribonneta Wish” wears a light pink dress with bows and a lovely bolero with dots.
The dress features pink pearl beads and ribbons in Hello Kitty’s five colors at the waist and hem.
The strap of the halter dress has has a bow behind the neck, the magenta bolero has a polka dot and puff sleeves.
The “Hello Kitty” face is printed on a cute white handbag which features a pearl-bead handle.
Her shoes are magenta and made from a new mold with high heels for a mature style.
Her subtly permed hair is reddish brown with bangs and two ponytails with big bows on both sides.

Ages ago, I mentioned that someone was designing the new site logo for me.

Kitty is the work of the incredibly talented Shigetomo-san of MGX Factory™.

I’ve been a fan of Shigetomo-san’s work for a very long time, following him on Flickr, buying his jewellery from Hello Drama, and generally keeping an eye out for new works, shows and artwork to buy.

When Shigetomo-san said he would be delighted to design my logo, I was overjoyed. Basing the look around one of my all time favourite photographs I have taken of Blythe, and his wonderful Monster Girl series, Shigetomo-san came up with the perfect mascot first go.

    For MGX Factory

Well, say hello to Kitty, the new mascot/logo for Pixelkitty/KittyLovesJapan and all my online presence.
