    A bunch of dolly friends were talking, and I asked if anyone was interested in a real life face to face Market for dolls. The answer was a resounding YES!

    So here it is, The Melbourne Doll Market. A non-profit, for doll collectors, by doll collectors real life in person market!

    The Market is for dolls in the retro, modern and fashion categories. This includes Blythe, Barbie, BJDs, Momoko, Fashion Royalty and so many others.

    Come along to the Market, and see beautifully crafted fashions and accessories (not nasty pink factory made!) and dolls of all kinds for sale.

    A little over two years ago, I started building an online forum for dolly lovers. The intention was to create a community where people all over the world could come and talk about their doll collections, give help and assistance to each other, trade and share their experience.

    Due to circumstances of the time, I decided not to make that forum live.

    Things change, and two years is a long, long time. Now that I’m about to trip off to Japan and my own collection has expanded, I decided it was the perfect time to launch the Dolly Addiction Forum.

    No matter what kind of doll you collect – plastic, plush, resin, vinyl – you are welcome at Dolly Addiction.

    Dolly Addiction - a forum for doll collectors around the world.

    Thank you to the great friends and supporters who have encouraged me. Your support and continued participation at the Forum will see it grow into a large community.

    Love Mission Custom Blythe

    Love Mission Custom Blythe

    I’ve been acquiring quite a few new dolls and other items lately. Even though I meant to go on a bit of a spending diet, it seems that dolls, like food, are things I just enjoy too much.

    Along with the vintage black Barbie Vespa from a second hand store, I managed to pick up a NRFB Love Mission from my favourite Japan seller.

    Adding to the Sunshine Holiday, Ashlettina and Merry Skier I picked up earlier last month. Oops!

    Again I find myself apologising for the incredibly slack way I am posting to my website.

    The project I am working on until November is taking much of my time, but I am doing some work on this website – you just cannot see it!

    I’ve commissioned one of my favourite Japanese artists to design the new logo for KLJ and PK. I should have first round to look at in a week. It’s not cheap, but his work has been inspiring me for some time now. I even own one of his necklaces and recently he sent me a pack of stickers of his hand-drawn characters.

    I’ll reveal more of his secret identity when I announce the new logo!

    Also coming up, the re-launch of the store. There’ll be a stack of Re-Ment (not blind boxed! so you get what you want) and even some Azone Pure Neemo items (Flection bodies!) plus the usual eyechips and customising materials. The exchange rate has improved slightly, but be aware that it’s still not back to where it was.

    Junie Moon for Takara have announced a swathe of new Blythes, and I’ll update you on all of those too as soon as I have time to write the articles!

    Stay with me, I’ll be back soon with better updates!

    So, I’m planning my next trip to Japan. I was hoping to go in April 2010 as it iz mah burthdai, but it’s also the most expensive time of the year to travel in Japan, thanks to the beautiful sakura being in bloom.

    The only things I know for certain so far:

    1. 2010 is the year;
    2. Tokyo, Kanazawa, Osaka and Kyoto are on the agenda;
    3. I will visit Nakano Broadway at least 5 times in the month I wish to stay;
    4. I want to stay for four weeks;
    5. I will stay with Sakura House in one of their apartments again;
    6. Husband will be with me;
    7. Kitty will be missing us terribly.

    As you all know, I collect Blythe. But I also collect other bibs and bobs – we have a nice collection of Bearbricks, I love Kaws and BOME figures. I think Figma and Revoltech are awesome, and I love Pure Neemo Advance (Standard and Flection) doll bodies.

    Other than Volks in Akihabara and Ikebukuro, where else shall I go? I already know to spend time in Akiba and DenDen Town scouring out the ReMent and miniatures I so love, but where else? What else?

    Suggestions please.

    (I use Japan Post EMS to ship what I buy back – works out cheaper than excess baggage, and the Post Office here in Australia holds onto the precious cargo for me until I can collect it – awesome!)
